Joyeux Halloween à tous! J'espère que vous faites quelque chose d'excitant!
De mon coté je viens d'écrire mon premier examen en tant qu'étudiante graduée. C'est difficile à dire si ça a bien été mais je crois que oui. J'ai aimé le format de questions. Ce que j'aime encore plus c'est que ça soit fini! En plus j'ai un super longue fin de semaine!

#ThrowbackThursday – l’été est fini/Summer’s over (part 1)

Je vous annonce officiellement que “l’été est fini”, je dois dire qu’ici à Montréal on a eu un automne très respectable jusqu’à date mais là, Y FA FRETTE.  Je profite donc de ce jeudi, maintenant connu dans le monde des réseaux sociaux comme Throwback Thursday, pour faire un premier retour sur certaines choses que j’ai fait cet été et que je n’ai pas pu partager car je n’avais pas encore mon blog!

I am officially letting you know that summer is over. I do have to say that, here in Montreal, we’ve had a more than decent fall but now it’s FREEZING! And by that I mean that my hands and nose get cold when I'm outside and I’ve had to wear a scarf for reasons other than accessorizing. I am therefore taking advantage of it being Thursday, know as Throwback Thursday in our social network world, to take a look at some of the highlights of my summer!

Le nouveau CRCHUM - 1ere rencontre

Aujourd'hui nous avions la première réunion officielle au nouveau centre de recherche du CHUM. Vous avez sûrement entendu parlé du fameux nouvel hôpital qui doit être construit à Montréal. Eh bien, c'est finalement une réalité (ben, presque), la phase 1 de ce qui est communément appelé le "nouveau CHUM" est complétée. Le centre de recherche.

Carrot Muffins aux carottes

C'est samedi et il fait gris, excellent moment pour préparer une petite recette entre deux match de football NCAA.

It's a grey Saturday here which means it's perfect to whip up a batch of something between two NCAA football games.

Je suis une grande fan de gâteaux (ou muffins) aux carottes et ça fait plusieurs semaines que je me dit qu'il faudrait que j'en fasse. J'avais épinglé une recette et c'est aujourd'hui qu'elle sert! À vos fourneaux!

I'm a big fan of any kind of carrot cake (or muffin) and I've been wanting to make some for many, many weeks, as luck would have it, I've had a recipe pinned and ready to go! To the kitchen!

Hi!

I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for a little while, it’s still a thing right? I know it was big not that long ago. And I read a TON of cooking blogs so I know those are definitely ‘in’.

Why a blog?:

It’s recently been a year since I left my Winnipeg home and moved to Montreal and although nothing very exciting has happened I thought some might like a little insight on what it’s like for me here. This blog is also definitely a way for me to procrastinate, let’s be real, but I think it can be a good way for me to take a step back and look at my everyday life with a critical eye. Plus it’ll be fun to look at a few years from now.

So here I am. Mise en place is French for...preparation, to put it simply. In English it is used in the cooking world to refer to all the little steps that need to take place before the actual cooking happens. For me, Mise en place will be a place to share a little bit of what, I'm hoping, is preparing me for a good, healthy, fun future. Plus, it's a combination of French and cooking, what could be more fitting?!

Depuis quelque temps je pense commencer un blog. Me semble que c’est la mode, ou ce l’était il y a quelques années. Je lis plusieurs blog de cuisine et je sais que ça, au moins, c'est très tendance ces temps-ci.

Pourquoi un blog?

Ça a fait un an que je suis partie de Winnipeg et même si il ne se passe habituellement rien de très palpitant ici, je me suis dit que peut-être que certains aimerait avoir une petite image de ce qui se passe ces temps-ci. C’est en partie aussi une forme de procrastination! Haha, soyons honnête et peut-être même de médiation, pour que je puisse mettre en perspective ma vie de tous les jours.

Alors voilà!
Mise en place, c'est utilisé en cuisine pour définir toutes les petites tâches à accomplir avant de se mettre à cuisiner le vrai plat. C'est la préparation. Pour moi, mise en place sera un endroit où partager un peu de ce qui, je l'espère, me prépare pour un bel avenir, c'est recherché hein!?
